Vicki Beatty is backed by 15 years experience in the waste, quarrying, concrete production and construction industires developing and implementing managment systems, managing health, safety and environmental risk, advising business and maintaining compliance.
Specialising in the design and development of management systems, Vicki Beattyhas completed Lead Auditor training for ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and BS OHSAS 18001.
With a BSc(Hons) in Applied and Environmental Geology from the University of Birmingham, Vicki started her career with Hanson Waste Management as an Environmental Technician , monitoring and sampling gas, groundwater, surface water and leachate.
Vicki continued on to develop the environment management system for Hanson Waste Managment helping them to become one of the first waste companies to gain certficiation to ISO 14001.
With experience Vicki progressed to Assistant Environment Manager responsible for a team of technicians and co-ordinating the legally required monitoring and reporting and compliance with permits and environmental data for landfills in the south east of England.
Following a year working for the Environment Protection Agency in Australia Vicki joined the largest privately owned sand and gravel company in the UK; the Brett Group. In a variety of roles Vicki has developed, the Brett Group Integrated Management System (IMS) and gained certification to ISO 14001, BS OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001, BES 6001 and QSRMC as required across operations including production of ready mixed concrete, quarrying operations, production of asphalt, wharf and railhead operations for the delivery of aggregates by sea, manufacturing of concrete products and also for the construction arm of the Group, Provian Construction and their associated support functions including electrical services and transport/distribution.
Whilst at the Brett Group Vicki also implemented the Sustainability and KPI reporting system, designing and developing a bespoke system for the management and reporting of KPI data. Vicki also supported the IMS through the development of an electronic incident recording, tracking and management system which was further ustilised to record and manage all non-confomance data from audits.
Vicki also developed a competency assessment and recording system, defined Brett's approach to the Mining Waste Directive and adivsed the Group on general health, safety and environmental matters.
Vicki has gained an NVQ4 in the Management of Occupational Health and Safety and is now a Graduate member of IOSH. Having passed the open assessment Vicki awaits an interview to gain full membership of IOSH. Vicki is also an Associate member of iema.
